Founded in 1926, the operator Boston Harbor Cruises (BHC) allows you to comfortably travel on its ferries to the historical city of Salem and to Provincetown, well known by its beautiful beaches. It wouldn't be unusual if you see whales in these waters!
The Boston Harbor Cruises fleet is composed by several ferries designed to carry foot passengers.
The high speed catamaran Nathaniel Bowditch will take you in less than one hour from Boston to the city of Salem, famous for its witch trials in the XVII century. Precisely this city is the owner of this ship, although its service is run by the Boston Harbor Cruises company by contract. This 92 feet long ferry and two decks is able to carry up to 149 passengers at a maximum speed of 33 knots. On the lower deck you'll find the main cabin with booth-style sitting, walking space, a gallery and three restrooms. The upper deck offers tables and benches in addition to an open air area to enjoy the fresh air and 360 degrees views.
The high-speed catamaran Salacia goes from Boston to the cape of Provincetown. This ship is the biggest and fastest catamaran in the country, with a maximum speed of 40 knots. With its ride stabilization system, the 90 minutes crossing will be a pleasurable and comfortable experience. The Salacia offers air conditioning, free Wi-Fi on board, satellite TV, bar, snacks, airline-style and booth-style sitting, an outside deck and even a concierge desk service, where you'll get information about the best activities and places to visit in Provincetown.
Boston Harbor Cruises offers food and beverage on board all their vessels, like sandwiches, hot dogs, hot pretzels, popcorn, water, fruit juices, iced tea, soda, coffee and tea. Also wine, beer and cocktails are served at the bar.
