Korea-based Kobee Ferries, under the Miraejet brand, operates a ferry line between the South Korean port of Busan and the Japanese port of Fukuoka on the southern island of Kyushu. The ferry calls at Tsushima Island along the way. Mirae Jet Co. Ltd. was founded as a division of a large corporation in 2001 to provide passenger transportation by all modes of transport and logistics services. The ferry line between Busan and Fukuoka serves as a good budget alternative to air transportation, especially the land travel allows the use of one's own car.
The Kobee ferry fleet is represented by double-deck high-speed hydrofoils. These ferries are capable of crossing the Tsushima Strait in less than 3 hours.
Despite their high speed, the ferries provide passengers with very comfortable travel conditions. Passengers are accommodated in aircraft-type seats. The design of the ships is such that even at full throttle passengers can move freely in the cabin. There is a duty-free store on board.
Ticketing begins 2.5 and ends 1 hour before the ferry goes to sea. Passengers need to fill out two cards – one for departure from Korea in Korean, the other – for entry into Japan can be filled out in English, on the entry card to Japan, the address and phone number of the place where the passenger will stay the first night must be provided. Arrival cards must be kept in your passport. The company provides discounts for groups, schoolchildren, club for regular customers. Tickets are more expensive during the summer season. The Busan-Fukuoka line is usually very busy, especially during high season, so the company recommends buying tickets well in advance. Right now, because of the pandemic, flights are temporarily stopped.
