Amalfi — a picturesque resort town in western Italy, located south of Naples on the Gulf of Salerno between Salerno and Sorrento. The Amalfi Coast is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the Middle Ages, the Duchy of Amalfi was one of the largest maritime republics of Italy.
The ferry service from Amalfi is well developed, with many voyages, especially in the summer season, departing along the Tyrrhenian coast west along the Sorrento peninsula to the islands of Capri and Ischia, north to Positano, Sorrento, Naples and south-east to Maiori, Minori, Cetara, Vietri sul Mare, Salerno. With a connection in Naples you can reach the Aeolian Islands and Sicily.
Ferry services are provided by Travelmar, NLG, Alicost, Positano Jet, Alilauro, Alilauri Gruson.
Alicost operates fast hydrofoils, Alilauro fast catamarans and monohulls up to 35 knots and Positano Jet has a fast fleet. All ferries from Amalfi are passenger ships, it is impossible to transport a car on them.
The number of flights depends on the season, some flights are operated only from May to September inclusive.
The price of a ticket depends on the distance to the destination port and the company. Tickets to Capri cost from 20 euros one way and 32 euros round trip, to Ischia —26 euros, to Positano, Salerno —9 euros, to Majori, Minori —from 3 euros. On board the ferries are buffets, meals on many flights can be booked with the ticket. Companies offer related services, such as hotel reservations and excursions.
It takes about an hour to get to Amalfi from the international airport of Naples. The access roads to the port are good and there is a small parking area, but during the season the streets are congested.
The port is located on the waterfront in the center of town. Ferries dock at a pier that juts into the sea. Near the waterfront there are many tourist facilities — local restaurants, stores, hotels from budget to five-star. Not far from the port there are many attractions of Amalfi.
There are ticket offices near the port, but it is better to book online, you can do it on our website.
